Still thinking of NM...

As the weather cools down, it reminds me that it was almost a year ago that we were in NM. I have had numerous vacations which I enjoyed, but that one was the best ever. It was the combination of a road trip, new places, diverse geology, friendly people, great food, wonderful creative energy, and abounding scientific knowledge. I miss it so much.

Dreams...

I wish I could escape to New Mexico and explore my inner artist. There has to be something more to my life.

ABQ State of Mind

With the weather being as nice as it is today, it makes me think of Albuquerque and how nice it would be to live there.

So long, Ron Silver.

I just learned of the passing of Ron Silver. I think I liked him because he reminded me of my hometown. Then, there was the movie "Eat and Run" which I liked, partially because it was offbeat. Though, I was surprised that Ron Silver starred in it. Recently, I enjoyed listening to him on his show on Sirius satellite radio. He had esophageal cancer.

Oddly enough, for no reason, a few days ago, I was watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians" since the name sounded familiar, but I did not know why. Then, I Googled and found that their father was Robert Kardashian (OJ Simpson lawyer) who died of esophageal cancer in 2003.

Wow, now I've heard of 2 celebs with this type of cancer.

The Rest of the Story - Goodbye, Paul Harvey

I just heard about the passing of Paul Harvey at the age of 90. I used to listen to him as a teenager back in NYC. I think he was on WOR 710. I remember 2 segments - one for news and the other for The Rest of the Story. I used to enjoy those real life stories with the interesting endings. His delivery was unique.

Playing in the Dirt

Just back from Vegas, and I still am in love with the American Southwest. No one I know can understand it. They cannot comprehend how I could like living somewhere where it is very hot in the summer. Well, I cannot comprehend how they can live somewhere where it is very cold, snowy and icy in the winter.

When I came back from New Mexico this past October, someone said that all NM is is dirt. I will agree with that. They do not have the lush vegetation that we have in the Northeastern US. I guess I am starting to like the SW since it is totally opposite of what I have lived with my entire life. And, more importantly, I like to play in the dirt.
